Relay for Life
From Pam Radford:
Don’t forget tomorrow night [Friday] is Relay for Life. Due to the weather, the event will be held indoors in the gym at SSS high school from 5pm-10pm. Powhatan will not have a booth, but we still recommend coming out to support the Relay. There will be some food and other activities. Luminaries will be on display in the gym. Hope to see you there!
Arrangements for Linda Bunn
The visitation will be held at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton on Saturday, February 26 from 5 to 7 pm.
A graveside service will be held at McLaurin on Sunday, February 27 at 2 pm.
With the funeral on Sunday afternoon, we will cancel our Sunday evening Bible Study.
No Services Sunday, January 16.
Due to the threat of icy roads, we will not have services on Sunday, January 16.
Our pastoral candidate will come next Sunday, January 23, for the morning Worship Service and the evening Bible Study.
This Wednesday, our Special Called Business Meeting will be cancelled. Instead, we will have our monthly Prayer Time service in the Sanctuary.
Arrangements for Sandra Peedin
Services for Sandra will be held on Monday, November 8 at Powhatan. Visitation will begin at 1 pm, with the funeral service following at 2 pm. After the funeral, there will be a graveside gathering, and then we will feed the family in the Fellowship Hall.

No services the week of March 22
Out of concern for our members, we have decided to cancel Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening services the week of March 22.
The Sanctuary will be open from 11 am to noon on Sunday, March 22, in case anyone wants to come and pray. We will be observing the recommended social distancing standards during this time.
We are reviewing alternative methods of sharing God’s word together.
Please pray for our church family and for our nation as a whole.
No Sunday night or Wednesday night services this week
Out of an abundance of caution, we will not have Sunday night or Wednesday night services the week of March 15.
Nursing Home Outreach Cancelled
With the local nursing homes dealing with concerns over the Corona virus, our Nursing Home Outreach visits are cancelled until further notice.
We will resume these visits once the nursing homes are open to visitors again. Please continue praying for the residents and the caretakers in this time of concern.
Sunday School Celebration
Remember, tomorrow morning we will meet in the Fellowship Hall for breakfast at 9:15. Afterward, we will stay for a combined Sunday School class. Come, celebrate Sunday School with us!
Quarterly Communion rescheduled
In light of the wake for Herman Lancaster tonight, our Quarterly Communion will be held next Sunday, January 26 at 6 pm.
No Wednesday Evening Service
Due to the funeral Wednesday, we will conclude our Revival services on Tuesday evening. Please bring any light refreshments on Tuesday instead of Wednesday.
No services Sunday, December 9
Due to the weather, all services for Sunday, December 9 have been cancelled. Our Christmas Play, originally scheduled for this evening, will take place next Sunday evening, December 16, at 6 pm, along with our Tree of Life service.
No services Sunday, September 16
Due to the hurricane, we will not have any services this Sunday. Our Homecoming service will be rescheduled.

Arrangements for Lisa Michelle Carter
From Pastor Roger:
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 3, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-2 PM, just prior to the service.
The burial will be private.
Due to this being the immediate family of one of our church members, we will not have services on Sunday evening.
