Brandi Benson

From Brandi’s mother:

I would like to be able to give updates on Brandi until we all are able to return to church. She is doing so much better and is ahead of schedule. God has truly gotten Brandi and the family through this. Brandi is walking on her own without help, walking up and down stairs without help, bending her knee to almost a normal position, and her pain is lessening each week. She is only 4 weeks out of surgery.

Thank you

Tammy Benson

Amy Sauls

From Pastor Jim:

Visited with Amy Sauls, Barbara Barbour’s daughter, in the hospital with possible pancreatitis. She is doing well. She will see the doctor Monday morning, the 4th, for more information about how they will be treating her. She is at Johnston Memorial in room 505. Be much in prayer for her.

Martha Jones

From Pastor Jim:

Martha and I visited with Martha Jones at the Hospice facility in Goldsboro today. She was very weak, very tired. Her memory too is failing her more and more. We had prayer with her and assured her that the church family was praying for her. She is in no pain; just very tired. Be much in prayer for her.

Becky Harden

From Pastor Jim:

We talked with Dan last night. Becky is about the same. She was sleeping at the time of our call. We asked Dan if there was anything we could do – He simply asked for prayer. Becky can’t eat anything by mouth. Dan said he would feel bad if we brought him some fried chicken and she couldn’t have any. Be much in prayer for them. We can help Becky by supporting her outreach program to the nursing homes this month.

Shirley Hatcher

From Pastor Jim:

January 22nd – Martha and I visited with Mrs. Shirly today at Carolina House. Her accommodations are wonderful, she has a good positive attitude and we visited around with her to meet some of her friends also staying there. Shirly is not expected to stay forever, but just until such time as her medications can be properly balanced.
Pray that this balance come quickly!

Becky Harden

From Pastor Jim:

January 22nd – Spoke with Dan today, Becky is still very uncomfortable with tubes here and there. Her ulcer is still leaking, causing pain and a bit of nausea. Becky will have to live with the tubes for approximately three to four weeks in hopes that the ulcerated area will heal. They will probably be coming home Thursday or Friday.
Keep them in your prayers.

School to be named

If you are interested in having the new elementary school being built beside Stan Jones’ house named for the community of Powhatan, you can contact Bd. member Donna White — 733-0440 to voice your vote (or any other board member). The original building on the church land was Powhatan School in the late 1800s/early 1900s.
