Forged (Men’s Group)

Forged - Men's Ministry logo

Our church must be a training ground for Christian men in order to produce men effective in Christian ministry.  Forged is our Men’s Ministry (formerly known as the Laymen’s League) — a place where men ask questions, share, and learn what it means to be men of God. We serve God through serving others in our homes, our jobs, our church, and our community.

We address questions brought by members and visitors, such as:

  • What does God expect of me as a Christian and as a man?
  • How can I know if I’m saved?
  • What does the Bible say about manhood, and how is that different from what the world says?
  • Are Christians supposed to be wimps?
  • What is “servant leadership?”

In our ministries, we serve:

  • our members with Christian fellowship and activities like axe-throwing, bowling, fishing, shooting, etc.
  • our church by holding fundraisers and cook-outs and by helping members with tasks they cannot tackle alone.
  • our community by supporting and working in our outreach ministries.

Join us on Family Nights in the Sonshiners’ classroom. Whether planning the next BBQ Chicken Fundraiser or getting together over coffee and biscuits to make sure the church and grounds are in good working order, the Forged men’s group always tries to include a little food and fellowship in its hard work. Our current president is Jonathan Jacobs-Chestnut.
