Compassion Sunday: Today is Compassion Sunday! Powhatan’s Youth are partnering with Compassion International to sponsor and feed hungry children around the world. Our own Melissa Lumley, an employee of Compassion International, will explain the work. Click here to see an introductory video.
Choir Practice 1: The Choir will practice tonight at 5:30 pm in the Sanctuary.
Bible Study: Tonight at 6 pm, Pastor Johnathan will lead our Bible Study service in the Fellowship Hall.
Homeless Ministry: The Homeless Ministry meets at the church Mondays at 5:15 pm. Carpool to Clayton begins at 5:30 pm. See Jeremy Weishaar.
Prayer Time: Join us on Wednesdays at 6 pm in the Sanctuary for a time of group prayer.
Choir Practice 2: The Choir will practice Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary.
Prayer Meeting: Wednesday at 7 pm, Pastor Johnathan will lead our Prayer Meeting service in the Fellowship Hall.
Samaritan’s Purse Item of the Month: Each month, we are collecting different items to pack in our Samaritan’s Purse Christmas boxes for 2024. For April, the items are stuffed animals. See Pam Radford.
Mother’s Day Banquet: Friday, May 3 at 6 pm. This is open to all ladies of the church. Invite a friend, and sign up at either entrance. We will share a catered meal for $16 per person. Please pay Pam Radford by April 28. See Kim Barnes for more information.
Game Night: Starting Thursday, May 9 from 6 to 9 pm, we will meet for a monthly Game Night on the second Thursday of each month. Bring a snack or finger food to share. See Cynthia Narron or Kristin Radford.
Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) Trip: Tuesday, May 14 at 11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. The speaker will be Nicole Youngblood from the Johnston County Cooperative Extension Office. Lunch is provided. Sign up by May 12. See Pam Radford.
Youth Camp 2024: Grades 3–12 are invited to “Take Heart” at Cragmont, July 15– 20. For details, or to ask about sponsorships, see Youth Pastor Joe Gotshall. To register for camp, see the Youth page (under Ministries) on Powhatanchurch.com.
Cragmont Women’s Retreat: The Woman’s Auxiliary will attend the Emmanuel Retreat at Cragmont from August 9 –11. Join us for a weekend of fun and fellowship in the beautiful mountains. The cost is $130 which includes lodging and four meals. A $30 deposit is due ASAP to reserve the lodging. See Cynthia Narron.
Woman’s Auxiliary Fundraiser: The Woman’s Auxiliary is selling Danny Duzit stainless steel sponges for $4 each. If you would like to purchase one, see Pam Radford.
Clayton Area Ministries (CAM): We are collecting canned veggies, peanut butter/jelly, single-serve oatmeal/cereal, tuna, toilet paper, and toiletries for our local food bank. Baskets have been placed at the door to the Sanctuary and the door to the Fellowship Hall. See Carolyn Claxton.
