A new email claiming to be from Pastor Johnathan is going around. Once again, even though the Sender is listed as “Rev. Jonathan Solomon” the sender’s email address is not one of Pastor Jonathan’s email addresses.
This new email is asking for a current directory, in an apparent attempt to get more contact information for church members.
If you receive any email from anyone associated with our church, please confirm the message is from an email address you recognize before you respond.
People are receiving emails claiming to be from Pastor Johnathan and asking for money. These are scams and should be ignored.
Anything from the email address “pastor.powhatanchurch@gmail.com” is a scam. Do not reply or interact with it. Please block and report the email address if you know how.
DO NOT SEND THE SCAMMERS ANY MONEY OR GIFT CARD INFORMATION!!
Janet’s Facebook account has been hacked. Please disregard any requests from that account (Janet Spencer Chestnut), or block it.
Wayne and Linda will hold a memorial for Charlie Beal on Saturday, September 18. The service will start in the Sanctuary at 11:30 am, followed by a catered meal in the Fellowship Hall at noon.
The church is invited, and people are free to bring a dessert if they wish.

The Easter Egg Hunt will be tomorrow at 10:00am. Don’t forget it is very important to be on time because it will take all of 3 minutes to pickup the eggs. The egg hunt will be for 10 and under. I do have kites and bubbles for all of the youth.

Wanda Williams is the grandmother of Keon Peppers, who’s come to church with Scott & Janet occasionally. Mrs. Williams is fighting lung cancer and kidney disease together, and she and her whole family (children and grandchildren) need our prayers. Please remember them.

Aubrey is in the hospital at REX since yesterday afternoon. He was experiencing heavy chest pain and felt that he needed to get to the hospital. He feels that he may have a staph infection in his chest. He said, because of the possibility of staph, no one should try and visit with him until he knows for sure what’s going on.
Please be much in prayer for Aubrey and Linda!
The visitation will be Thursday, May 21, from 6 pm to 9 pm at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton. Her funeral will be Friday, May 22, at 2:30 pm at Victory Fellowship Church in Garner (see http://www.vfgarner.com for directions).
Please continue to remember her family and friends in prayer.
Sharon Llyod, mother of two from Dunn, is figting breast cancer. Tammy Benson met her at the
hospital in Smithfield and felt moved to share Christ with her, and to have us add Sharon
to our prayer list. Updates will come as Tammy receives them.

The funeral arrangements for Martha Jones are as follows: Thursday evening 5pm-6pm wake at Powhatan Church. Funeral service begins at Powhatan Church. After interment in the Powhatan cemetery, family will have dinner at the Powhatan Fellowship hall. Food items can be brought directly to the church fellowship Hall.
