Shirley Hatcher

From Pastor Jim:

January 22nd – Martha and I visited with Mrs. Shirly today at Carolina House. Her accommodations are wonderful, she has a good positive attitude and we visited around with her to meet some of her friends also staying there. Shirly is not expected to stay forever, but just until such time as her medications can be properly balanced.
Pray that this balance come quickly!

Becky Harden

From Pastor Jim:

January 22nd – Spoke with Dan today, Becky is still very uncomfortable with tubes here and there. Her ulcer is still leaking, causing pain and a bit of nausea. Becky will have to live with the tubes for approximately three to four weeks in hopes that the ulcerated area will heal. They will probably be coming home Thursday or Friday.
Keep them in your prayers.

School to be named

If you are interested in having the new elementary school being built beside Stan Jones’ house named for the community of Powhatan, you can contact Bd. member Donna White — 733-0440 to voice your vote (or any other board member). The original building on the church land was Powhatan School in the late 1800s/early 1900s.

Hello world!

As you can see, I have changed the website again. Mad with power, I am! Of course, it could just be discombobulation from extreme sleep deprivation, which rhymes and has a pleasing rhythm, but lacks a certain mildly threatening style.

🙂

The new website is built on the WordPress blogging tool, using a (heavily customized) free theme originally created by Nathan Rice.

This new structure has some clear advantages! Pages can be assigned to individuals or groups, allowing a particular group to post their own upcoming events or plans on their own page without having to send all the information through me. You don’t even have to know HTML or how to FTP. Everything is handled through the easy-to-learn WordPress interface. You just need Internet access.

This blog page is open to any member who wants to post prayer requests, praise reports, questions, comments, etc. Contact me and I’ll assign you your login credentials. We’ll also be posting schedule changes and last-minute notices here, so check back often.

You may add a comment to any post, but be aware that the screening needed to keep out spam does create significant delays. Your comment will not appear immediately – be patient.
